My husband has gently lobbied for years to replace the struggling plants on our shaded porch. I kept trying to grow something that would thrive—but nothing ever quite worked. When our kids were little, our porch swing was the heart of many cherished moments. We’d wait there for the school bus, share afterschool snacks, and watch our kids play basketball in the yard. It was the perfect spot for connection and relaxation.
Over time, wear and weather took their toll, and we had to take the swing down. Now, we’re on the lookout for a new one—there’s a beautiful option on Amazon I love that even comes with a cushioned seat for extra comfort.
But here in Virginia, pollen is a serious challenge during spring and early summer. If you’re like us and want to keep a swing cozy and inviting despite the pollen, here are a few tips:
